Director, Technical, Footwear and Accessories

About the Function: The Vendor Management team is accountable for global vendor/cross-functional/brand relationships, performance as per defined sourcing strategy, strategic capacity planning. The sub teams - Category Sourcing, Product Development and Vendor Development work in specialized operating model in order to facilitate more nimble sample development, drive value added activities & innovation and improve our responsive capability to service the business better.

About the Sub-Team: The primary responsibility for the Technical/Product Integrity Team is to provide Technical Support to the Brands, Footwear Vendor Management team, and vendors on quality improvement and to ensure brand’s quality and safety regulatory requirement are met.

About the Role:You will provide proactive support to primarily the Footwear/Non-apparel merchandising team to ensure design and specifications of product are technically sound in fabrication, fitting and construction, quality performance. Ensure product quality and brand protection is properly managed in accordance to product specification, regulation compliance and product safety requirements.

  • Provide technical expertise and oversee Product Integrity operations processes to ensure quality performance of products is in compliance with corporate requirements.
  • Drive the implementation of departmental standard operating procedures to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness. Enhance operational processes to improve/upgrade service level.
  • Manage data capturing capability and establish review mechanism to measure and report productivity metrics . Review service quality, identify training needs & manage resource planning.
  • Establish rapport with merchandising teams and vendors in providing technical advice and to ensure understanding and interpretation of corporate requirements.
  • Educate vendors on corporate standards/requirements. Host communication meetings and training as needed.
  • Establish partnership with San Francisco and New York counterparts in researching new methods, products and capabilities for product improvement. Maintain close relations with key dyestuff, chemical suppliers, mills, fabric and accessories suppliers as well as technical organizations.
  • Support Vendor Management with new vendor development from identifying the right partners to on boarding for seamless execution and Brand right product.
  • Motivate, develop staff to build quality bench strength and appropriate retention; create positive environment with high staff morale.
