Sr. Director/Director , Supplier Development & COE

This role will help to identify, evaluate and optimize the product operations at the regional/factory level. S/he will be accountable to evaluate factory existing infrastructure, state of current operations, improvements needed to drive continuous improvements and productivity growth to support our brand needs around responsive & sustainable cost.
 
This role is also responsible for establishing and optimizing vendor development function by providing broad direction and execution/improvement plans, work closely with Regional GMs., PQA & VD team to operationalize identified opportunities.
 
Additionally, this role will also manage the Process Improvement and Training & Assessment COE comprising of a small team focused on developing and review of guidelines/training materials  for process monitoring and capability evaluations of all regions as well as delivery of training to 3rd party inspection firms, PQA teams and other cross functional GIS teams.
 
Lastly, this role will as well identify, evaluate, develop and elevate the desired technical skill sets for the GIS teams and vendors/factory staff to enable them to perform their duties effectively while working through cross functional teams (PQA, VD etc.).




ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP:
  • Evaluate and optimize product operations and drive continuous improvements at regional/factory level..
  • Responsible to identify, develop  and elevate the desired technical capability and skill sets amongst cross-functional teams (VD,factory staff,PQA)
  • Ensuring fit and quality of product is delivered in line with brand needs by partnering closely with internal and external teams and ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed environment
  • Maintain robust communication by building strong relationships with senior leadership, category leads, Country Managers/Regional GMs and regional PQA leaders to drive key initiatives, vendor performance and best practices.
  • Sits on the Global Quality leadership team
  • Leads and inspires functional teams to remain; product obsessed, customer-focused, innovative, fast-moving and team-oriented.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Optimization of product operations at the regional/factory level through evaluation of existing factory infrastructure and operations.
  • Drive continuous improvements and productivity growth in line with brand needs for responsive and sustainable cost.
  • Reduce cost and lead times of product through best practices implementation and maintenance within the production cycle
  • Establish and optimize vendor development function by assessing and building capability to embed process improvement.
  • Ensure consistency of VD processes and tools cross categories
  • Provide direction and execution support for improvement plans and  partnering with cross-functional teams (PQA,IE/Lean and VD) to operationalize opportunities
  • Identify, evaluate, develop and elevate the technical skill sets of GIS teams and vendor/factory staff 
  • Identify new training tools and training materials for both Gap internal staffs & external vendors/factories.  
  • Identify and advice improvements of monthly country quality performance metrics covering all process and initiatives.
