Manager, IT Applications and Reporting, Business Applications

General summary: 
This role of Manager IT Applications and Reporting is to manage the company-wide sourcing and supply chain related application development and the implementation of related business processes across functional departments among regional offices. In addition, s/he will lead the BI platform development to support business KPI analysis and dashboard and analytical reporting

Principle responsibilities:  
  • Work with business and sourcing strategy team to define and implement dashboard metrics/ KPI and reporting requirements to support business decision making process:
    • Act as the data architect to comprehend and converse confidently on the data integration points across multiple applications at the enterprise and sourcing-specific applications
    • Define the reporting requirements (both operational and analytical)
    • Work with the data reporting team to implement various reports and dashboard metrics, using technologies such as MicroStrategy and SSAS
  • Interface with Supply chain & Sourcing business (located in HK, US, Asia) to define requirements for tools and applications which in turn enhance operational efficiency:
    • Define detailed requirements and complete appropriate documentation to reflect the scope of the application product to be delivered
    • Facilitate analysis and design in assigned projects/areas, including system/process integration with related areas 
  • Provide business and technical experience in the planning, design review and implementation of all new systems and enhancements:
    • Handle application delivery activities including requirements gathering; project planning, schedule management, project status, etc.
    • Provide periodic status updates to relevant stakeholders and business partners
    • Manage the delivery quality of in-house developers and subcontractors
    • Support testing of new functionality and defect fixes
    • Define application deployment/ data migration plan, and coordinate with different parties for smooth technical system cutover

  • Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines
  • 10+ years of experience working as a system & business manager/ senior analyst or similar position to support project activities for the larger scale web-based application systems
  • Solid knowledge and experience in application development lifecycle (analysis/ design/ build/ test/ deploy) using agile methodology
  • Proficiency in enterprise-level database application development in MS-SQL (additional exposure to Oracle SQL application development is preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with database queries and report writing
  • Skilled with BI tools such as MicroStrategy
  • Exposure in garment sourcing, supply chain or retail business domains is a plus
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information in database and/ or Excel with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral in English; fluency in Chinese (Putonghua) is preferred
  • Good presentation/ writing skills and analytical skills with positive attitudes to achieve business results
  • A good team player who is independent, self-initiating, eager to learn and share, and is able to work under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
