Training Specialist
P.A.C.E (Personal Advancement Career Enhancement) program started in China in 2008 as a pilot program. Since 2011, it has become a full fledge program. In the first 4 years, the program has been delivered by an NGO partner. Starting 2013, the role of NGO partner is replaced by a consultant who serves as Master Trainer and training specialist. The Consultant Master Trainer of SCI will deliver the “Train of Trainer” (TOT) to the selected Gap vendors’ employees who will later deliver the P.A.C.E. program to the participants from their own factory. The training specialist is assisting master trainer in TOT training maintaining the quality of program delivery.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Assist to training of Trainers (Ongoing)
  • Work with master trainer to deliver the “Training the Trainer” (TOT) to the trainers of identified Gap’s vendors and ensure them to follow the P.A.C.E. program educational learning modules.
  • Deliver the strategy/plan to be used for obtaining engagement and maintain quality of internal trainers of P.A.C.E. vendors.
  • Ensured the communication channel working well to enhance the quality of internal trainers of vendors.
  1. Support Management with Program Maintenance and Development (Ongoing)
  • Conduct the action plan to maintain the quality of program and the internal trainers based on the Quality Assurance Operational Guidelines.
  • Collect and prepare the correct necessary data following the operational guide of GEF (Global Evaluation Framework) from the P.A.C.E. vendors.
  • Report via presentation, written report and updates on program status.
  1. Country Research (Ongoing)
  • Obtain thorough understanding of manufactory workers in China
  • Conduct detailed analysis of social issue regarding migrant workers in China.
  • Conduct education assessments including:
  • Issues impacting the learning of workers.
  • Needs of workers in education and learning.
  • Opportunities to increase Gap Inc.’s positive positioning in the education and learning schedule of life-skills for workers.
  • Understand and pro-actively address issues that impact Gap. Inc education learning program in China.

1) Knowledge, skills & abilities:
  • Strong Knowledge of operation of garment factory in China.
  • Interest in delivering adult educational learning curriculum.
  • Ability to execute the strategy and support training to trainers of vendors.
  • Strong Inter-personal skills.
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written
  • Organized and task driven.  Able to allocate time effectively and work well independently
  • Knowledge of culture of National and provincial local context in China.
  • Good analytical ability to identify issues, propose and implement effective solutions
  • Fluent in Mandarin.
  • Conversant in both English and Cantonese.
2) Experience:
  • 1-2 years experience in conducting adult learning/training in manufactory sector.
  • Proven knowledge and ability in support training of the trainer.
  • Experience of developing and implementing program in vendor setting
3) Physical Requirements:
  • Travel required minimum 30% of the time.
  • Located in Mainland China (Guangdong preferable)
