Manager – Training & Assessment
The Asso Manager / Manager, Training & Assessment drives the continuous improvement of Gap International Sourcing (GIS) quality and productivity initiatives at the factory level through collaboration with PQA teams, Product Integrity, VM, Category Technical teams and IT departments in drafting  standards/ guidelines/training materials for new and current process monitoring. He/she helps the Senior Manager/Director in collecting and compiling best practices, trainings and learning materials. He/she performs work and supports the Senior Manager / Director with the clear objective of improving product quality, production flow, productivity and efficient factory management through Technical Evaluation/Corrective Action Plan, Best Practices, review DC Audits/In-Market reports and staff/factory feedback

Job Responsibilities:
  • Draft and propose process control guidelines, reference materials, benchmark, SOP for effective monitoring and reporting process of all quality and productivity related activities conducted in all regions.
  • Support in maintaining good records in Technical Evaluation Reports & Corrective Action Plan folders. (loading /unloading/folder filing, etc.)
  • Support in maintaining clear records for all DC Escalation CAPs and work with Senior Manager compiling the Best Practices library from the submissions. .
  • Support the Senior Manager compiling and sharing Best Practices for all process and categories across all regions.
  • Provide advice on improvements of monthly country quality performance metrics covering all process and initiatives.
  • Oversee the GIS Quality activities and factory quality performance for all countries.
  • Prepare and collaborate with PQA Leaders, IT, HR on organizing of training materials for internal training / vendor seminars.
  • Explore & develop new training tools and training materials for both Gap internal staffs & external vendors/factories.
  • Supports and tracks key factory productivity metrics including SAM and Y/Y values.
  • Benchmarks best practice manufacturing methods globally.

1) Knowledge, skills & abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes within the apparel/non-apparel industry and specific knowledge for relative category
  • Thorough understanding of Gap Inc. CoBC protocols.
  • Strong technical product skills
  • Solid industry knowledge including market trends for new vendor sourcing and development
  • Ability to create reports, provide analysis and recommendations to improve quality
  • Communication skills– both written and verbal – in English and local language
  • Strong risk management and trouble shooting skills; works proactively
  • Ability to influence all levels of factory management
  • Supervision, training and staff learning development skills
  • Planning, scheduling and reporting strengths.
2) Minimum educational and experience
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering or Textile or Garment (Industry related) or equivalent work experience
  • 12 years Quality Management role in related product
  • Senior level Factory Operations experience; or factory + buying office experience
  • Staff management and supervising experience across broad geographical area.
