IE/Lean Manager
Industrial Engineer/Engineering drives the continuous improvement of Gap International Sourcing (GIS) IE & Lean initiatives at the Vendor level through collaboration with Category Strategy team, PQA team, Product Integrity, VM & Category Technical team in drafting standards /guidelines/training materials for IE & Lean drives. He/she also helps in driving Capacity planning with Vendors to support Centralize Capacity planning team. Collect and compiling best practices, trainings and learning materials. He/she performs work and supports the Manager/Senior Manager with the clear objective of improving product quality, production flow, efficiency & productivity and efficient factory management through Industry Best Practices, Bench Marking, Lean, Six sigma.   
Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and propose reference materials, benchmark, SOP for effective monitoring and reporting process of all efficiency and productivity related activities.
  • Support in maintaining best manufacturing benchmarking processes Library across all product categories.  
  • Support in developing & implementing lean manufacturing processes across all product categories for vendors/factories.
  • Drive for capacity planning at the Vendor level to support Rapid Response (RR) programs.
  • Working together with VM & Vendors and drive them for improving Product Lead-time.
  • Oversee & closing working with GIS VM team for Product costing activities.
  • Explore & develop new training tools and training materials for both VM & Vendors.
  • Supports and tracks key factory productivity metrics to monitor the continuous improvement.
  • Benchmarks best practice manufacturing methods globally.
Key Requirements:
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering or Textile or Garment (Industry related) or equivalent work experience.
  • 6-8 years management role in related product.
  • Knowledge of PMTS.
  • Experienced in implementing Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma programs.
  • Experienced in capacity planning at factory level.
  • Factory level Industrial Engineering experience; buying office experience.
  • Staff management and supervising experience across broad geographical area.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing within the apparel/non-apparel industry and specific knowledge for relative category
  • Strong knowledge of Industrial Engineering & Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of Gap Inc. COBC protocols
  • Strong technical product skills
  • Strong knowledge and has ability to drive the capacity planning at the Vendor level to meet RR programs requirement
  • Ability to create reports, provide analysis and recommendations to improve productivity & efficiency, and shorten lead time
  • Communication skills– both written and verbal – in English and local language preferred
  • Strong risk management and trouble shooting skills; works proactively
  • Ability to influence all levels of factory management
  • Supervision, training and staff learning development skills
  • Planning, scheduling and reporting strengths
